Currently the journal Friction has been indexed by Science Citation Index (SCI) successfully, which includes all the published paper from Vol.1(1), 2013.

Friction is a peer-reviewed, open access journal starting from 2013. The journal is sponsored by Tsinghua University and Chinese Tribology Institute, and jointly published by Tsinghua University Press and Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg. It is for the publication of theoretical and experimental research works as well as monographic review articles related to contact, friction, wear, lubrication, surface adhesion and interface science. This journal is intended to provide an opportunity for the researchers to demonstrate their new findings and to offer readers a top-notch academic exchange platform.

Friction has gone through more than three years. And under the joint efforts of all the editorial board members, reviewers and authors, Friction got some achievements: in November 2013, Friction was awarded by Project (D Category) for Enhancing International Impact of China STM Journals (PIIJ); in December 2015, Friction was indexed by Chinese Science Citation Database (CSCD); in March 2016, Friction was indexed by Scopus; in June 2016, Friction was indexed by Science Citation Index (SCI); in August 2016, Friction was awarded by Project (B Category) for PIIJ.
